How to: Change embedded object from icon to file contents in Word.
Solution:
Select the icon. Select the 'Edit' menu and select '<object name> Image Object'. Clear the 'Display as icon' check box. Click 'OK'.
1) Select the desired icon. (Sizing handles appear around the icon.)
2) Select the 'Edit' menu and select '<object name> Image Object' where <object name> is the type of OLE object selected. (A submenu appears.)
3) Select 'Convert'. (The 'Convert' dialog box appears.)
4) Clear the 'Display as icon' check box.
5) Click 'OK' to close the 'Convert' dialog box. (The object is displayed in the Word document window.)
